The beauty of Oud is that this oil is rare, so rare that 2% of Agarwood trees in the world are capable of producing good quality Oud.

Agarwood, aloeswood or gharuwood trees between Sri Lanka, India, and right up to Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia get infected with a type of mould at some point in its life time and in response to that the tree produces a dark aromatic resin mostly concentrated in its heartwood. There are many varieties of agarwood almost around 30 types, but not all of them will produce the typical rare aromatic resin that is Oud. Those that do are rare and far between. No wonder this is the most prized scent in the world right now.

Oud however needs to be tempered for temperate climes. So this is my way of tempering Oud oil. This perfume oil is a blend of 3 different essential oils with oud that makes it unisex and still retains the abundant enticing aroma of Oud.
The base note is Cedar wood
Middle note is Arabian Oud soaked with saffron
Top note is Tuberose.

Why soak Oud in Saffron? Saffron threads have a very light scent that blends beautifully with Oud and Tuberose adds the final floral note. Cedar wood grounds the scent and so far I personally love it. This is an Argan oil blend.
